Formation is Condé Nast’s suite of internal technology and publishing software tools used by editors to manage, edit, and curate content and workflows. The developers and engineers the support these apps use the Formation Developer Hub, a one stop source which includes API documentation, help, and on-boarding.
Departures is another developer resource created by the Infrastructure Engineering team, which is a collection of tools that help deploy and existing applications. One of the main issues with the previous iteration of this site was the lack of easily accessible common tasks. A UX researcher and I held a workshop with developers to determine which features they would like to see immediately on the homepage.
Both of these sites were built in Axure as a clickable prototypes, demonstrating the different levels of information hierarchy and interactions.
